This Privacy Policy explains what information the RetconVault mobile application ("RetconVault", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using RetconVault you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

• Account information: the email address and password you provide when you register. Passwords are stored only as a securely hashed value (we never store your plain-text password).
• Collection data: the comics, games, and collectibles you add — titles, issue numbers, publishers, years, grades, condition, purchase prices, quantities, notes, and photos you upload.
• Usage data: basic app activity needed to operate features such as valuations, alerts, and market comps.
• Purchase data: if you subscribe, Google Play processes your payment. We receive a purchase token and subscription status from Google Play to unlock Pro features. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain your account and collection.
• To generate AI-assisted valuations, grade estimates, and market insights.
• To retrieve live and estimated market prices ("comps") for items in your collection.
• To send account emails such as password-reset messages.
• To verify and manage subscriptions and entitlements.

Third-Party Services

To provide core functionality, RetconVault shares limited, non-identifying data (such as item titles, issue numbers, and grades) with the following providers. We do not share your email or account credentials with them.

• eBay — public market pricing (listed and sold comps).
• OpenAI / Anthropic — AI valuations, grade tiers, and market insight text.
• ComicVine and Metron — comic metadata and cover art.
• PriceCharting — video-game and card market prices.
• Google Play Billing — process and verify subscription purchases.
• Resend — deliver transactional emails (e.g., password resets).

Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for their own advertising or marketing.

Data Retention

We retain your account and collection data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete account), which removes your account and associated collection data from our systems.

Data Security

Passwords are hashed, data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access tokens are stored securely on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Children's Privacy

RetconVault is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

You may access, update, export (CSV/PDF), or delete your collection data from within the app. To request deletion of your account and associated data, use Profile → Delete account, or contact us at the email below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
